SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES DEVELOPMENT MODEL AS PART OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS
Abstract
This study aims to improve the design of small and medium business development model as part of efforts to empower the community. This study is a qualitative research, with data collection is done by using focus group discussions with relevant agencies. The result of this research is a model of SMEs development as part of efforts to empower communities, which integrate the role of government, private sector, state-owned companies and universities, with its role as a facilitator, monitoring and evaluation of programs. The SMEs need to be developed include: improvement of skills, support the promotion / marketing, improving access to markets, technology procurement, improved access to raw materials, quality monitoring
